Centro Las Libres works to advance and defend sexual and reproductive rights in Mexico by:
empowering women and youth in disadvantaged rural and urban communities through ongoing training workshopsand education;
engaging young leaders and expanding our impact through our Las Libres' Youth Health Promoter's Network;
providing comprehensivelegal and psychological counseling for victims of sexual violence and rape;
advocating for and defending the rightsof victims of sexual violence and rape, particularly access to legal abortion;
promoting a social and political atmosphere of human rights and equality.

Human Rights Watch honors Centro Las Libres Executive Director Verónica Cruz Sánchez for her tireless work in promoting and protecting women’s reproductive rights in the state of Guanajuato. This prestigious honor recognizes Verónica’s work with women from disadvantaged communities who seek legal abortions for pregnancies resulting from rape.
